ANDI BERNAUER

Andi Bernauer born 1955 in Bayreuth (Germany) has lived in Tumbaco (Ecuador) for almost 40 years.

After studying psychology in Padova (Italy) and Erlangen (Germany), she lived in Perugia (Italy), where she dedicated herself to Art studies.

While traveling through South America, she decided that Ecuador’s extremely biodiverse landscapes and different cultures made it the ideal place to put down roots.

She works in exterior and interior design, Land Art, and the restoration of historic houses, creating spaces that speak - but “painting means pure happiness and allows me to forget everything around me” 

Painting has accompanied me through different periods of my life and now finally takes a central place in it.  

Inspired by nature, my great teacher, I combine sensations, inner images, and perceptions of my surroundings, bringing them onto the canvas by experimenting with different materials.
